TeX and type softawre expert. Together with Bob Tennent and Nikola Lecic , he maintains Old Standard, a Unicode font for classical and medieval studies. Old Standard was orignally designed by Alexey Kryukov, and now exists in both Opentype and type 1 formats. Old Standard reproduces a specific type of Modern (classicist) style of serif typefaces, very commonly used in various editions of the late 19th and early 20th century, but almost completely abandoned later. It is especially useful for academic texts that combine Greek, Cyrillic and Latin. CTAN link. |
