ABOUT

Walter Huxley

Type designer (b. New York, 1890, d. 1955) who created the ultra-condensed Huxley Vertical (1935, American Typefounders), now sold by vendors such as The Font Company, URW, Bitstream and ICG. The name Aldous Vertical is sometimes used as well. Tom Wallace (HiH) extended this first to Huxley Alt (2005), and then to the 5-style Huxley Amore and later to Huxley Cyrillic (2008). FontShop link. As an afterthgought, I can't see why people even bother with an ugly duckling and unreadable goat such as Huxley Vertical. Well, URW did, in its URW Huxley Vertical (2011).
