Walter Brudi

German type designer, (b. Stuttgart, 1907, d. Stuttgart, 1987), book designer, calligrapher, illustrator and stamp designer. From 1949 until 1973, he was professor of typography at the Staatlichen Akademie der bildenden Künste in Stuttgart.

He created Orbis (1953) and Pan (1954) at D. Stempel, and Brudi Mediaeval (Berthold, 1953-1954, a Garalde typeface with thin unbracketed serifs), as well as Brudi Kursiv.

A 1957 design served as inspiration for Ari Rafaeli's Pan AR (2010). Klingspor link.
