Rudolf Ruzicka's 1939 design. Now a Linotype face, ideal for books. Linotype's digital version is just awful, according to Dean Allen [Textism]: One day someone will do a version of Fairfield that honours Rudolf Ruzicka's Linotype masterpiece, one of the best book typefaces ever realized. This isn't it. I've experimented with fattening up the wispy strokes of the digital version, but still can't make it sing on the page.
