The Encyclopaedia of Type Faces Famous 1953 book W. Pincus Jaspert, W. Turner Berry, and A.F. Johnson, published in 1953 by Blandford, but now reissued in paperback (2001) by Cassell Illustrated in the UK (part of the Octopus Publishing Group) and/or Sterling in the USA. It gives samples and histories of almost 2000 fonts. Its digital successor is going to be "The Encyclopaedia of Fonts", to be compiled by Headley, and scheduled for March 2005.
