ABOUT

Fonderie Française

French foundry. Designers of some beautiful often didone typefaces, such as the fat face Liliom (see Slimblack for a similar typeface). They also produced well-known Victorian decorated capitals under the names Romantiques No. 1 through 5. The Egyptian typefaces are called just that, Egyptiennes (Narrow, Bold, Italic). Henry Chaix made the display roman typeface Editor in 1937.

Revivals include Liliom Pro (2012, Ralph M. Unger).
