Letterer and Intertype director of typography from Richmond, VA. Credited with the typeface Dietz Text, which is also attributed in places to Oswald Cooper. August Dietz patented a blackletter with two incised white lines for Barnhart Brothers&Spindler as Design 79792 on November 5, 1929.
