Charles Herman Becker ATF matrix and pattern maker. Born in Germany, he died in 1948. He was involved in the design of Cloister Cursive Handtooled (Cloister Handtooled Italic, 1923), Goudy Handtooled (1923; see Goudy Handtooled BT) and Novel Gothic (1929, a heavy art deco face), all in cooperation with Morris Fuller Benton.
