Adi Stern

Ex-student of the University of Reading (where he obtained an MA in Typeface Design), who runs Adi Stern Design in Tel Aviv. His Latin/Hebrew typeface Noam (2003) won an award at TDC2 2004. It was eventually published by TypeTogeher in 2013.

At ATypI 2005 in Helsinki, he spoke on Hebrew type. Speaker at ATypI 2013 in Amsterdam.

Adi Stern teaches Hebrew typography at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, Israel. Since 1994 he has run a Tel Aviv-based studio, focusing on design for the cultural domain. Adi has won various awards including those of the Israel Cultural Excellence Foundation and the New York and Tokyo Type Directors Clubs. Aleph=X is the title of his talk on bad contemporary Hebrew type, given at 2004 St. Bride Conference.
