Nineteenth century French punchcutter who designed the transitional text typeface Romana with Gustave F. Schroeder (Kingsley ATF, 1860; now available at Bitstream). He also ran a typefoundry, Beaudoire et cie. See also Old Roman Stephenson Blake (1878). Scans below include Romain Elzevir (1858) and Elzevir (corps) 14 (1863, Fonderie Generale), which is a copy of Perrin's Marqut 14. |
