ABOUT

Jan LeWitt

Polish graphic and type designer, b. 1907 (or 1908?), Czestochowa. He noticed how bad Hebrew type looked compared to Latin. So, in 1929 he designed the Hebrew alphabet Chaim. This alphabet became very popular in Israel since it departs from its Latin nemesis.
