ABOUT

Jean-Claude Gineau

Jean-Claude Gineau is a French font designer who specializes in school fonts to teach handwriting. Designer of the commercial school script Gino School Script (1997). I was puzzled by the many copies and redesigns of this font on the web until Olivier Berten explained it to me: At some point, the bold version did find its way to Dafont. As the windows cmap of that file is corrupted, Antoine Fétet made his version of it, changing the uppercase Q (and some other smaller things) and making a bolder version. Some teacher nicknamed Maternellecolor made some variations on that same file. So did another one in order to add lines for school use. None of them having asked any permission for it or even having managed to get in touch with Jean-Claude Gineau.
