In 2011, Delve Withrington and Dave Bailey codesigned Overpass, which was sponsored by Red Hat, inspired by Highway Gothic, a set of sans-serif typefaces developed by the United States Federal Highway Administration and used for road signage in the USA (but also used in many other countries), and freely available from Github and Open Font Library.
