A 2009 article on font replacement, written by Oslo-based graphic designer and web developer Johannes Gorset. Verdict: Cufón and typeface.js are based on later technologies (that's not to say they are not widely supported, as is so often the case with new technology and the web), so it should come as no surprise that they perform better in most respects. Unless you are overly bothered about text selection not looking entirely right just yet, you should probably go with the HTML5-based technique Cufón.
