This Paraguayan type designer from Asunción (b. 1977) created the sans family Kuarahy specially for its joint use for Castellano (Spanish) and Guaraní. He also made Jasy (a 3-weight roman) and Jeroky (for school texts that must serve both Spanish and Guaraní). In this talk, he discusses typography for Gauaraní, the language preferred by the people of Paraguay. FADU-UBA link. He teaches Editorial Design and Typography in the Universidad Nacional de Asunción, and works in editorial and educational design, and on social campaigns and typography in his studio.
