Antonio Martorell (b. 1939, Santurce, Puerto Rico) is a well known Puerto Rican painter, graphic artist, writer and radio and television personality. Martorell worked with Lorenzo Homar in his workshop for the Institute of Arts and Culture in Puerto Rico. Martorell developed as a printmaker, sign maker, and illustrator under the mentorship of Homar and later established his own workshop called Taller Alacron (The Scorpion Workshop) that created many politically thematic posters for Puerto Rican Universities during the 1970's. Since then, Martorell's colorful career includes contributions to theater, stage design, and performance art.
