Colin Michael Ford
Graphic and web designer in Baltimore, MD, and a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art. Baltimore Block Lettering (2010) is a blocky stencil alphabet inspired by the roughness of Baltimore City, with Cyrillic counterparts. Created for a class taught by Ken Barber&Ben Kiel of House Industries. He has also created Emford Sans and Globe Gothic, and intends to go commercial with his typefaces. In 2011, he graduated with a Masters in type design from KABK. At KABK, he designed Civilian (2011) specifically for use on blogs: The design takes into account the pixel grid of the screen while incorporating soft, personable curves to underline the significance of the person behind the website. Other typefaces include Emford Sans and Globe Gothic. |
