Alex Jacque (b. 1986, Virginia) is a designer and developer based in Oakland, CA (was: Baltimore, MD). He studied at the University of Michigan School of Art&Design and was located at that time in Ann Arbour, MI. He obtained an MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Creator of Dequindre (2015, based on the capitals of Fette Buhe Fraktur by Walter Buhe, 1914-1915), Teip (2014, a multiline layerable all caps typeface), Pila (2014, techno stencil), Handu (2012, hand-drawn sans-serif inspired by the hand-painted type and signage on the streets of Kolkata, India), Atrium (2012, a squarish sans family based on the pen art of W.E.
