ABOUT

Chris Glickman

Vancouver-based designer and photographer. Creator of the ultra-condensed Taraf Display (2015) with high crossbars. Chris writes: Taraf Display is a display face inspired by mid-century Coast Modern homes and the human element that entered into them. Using strict geometry this typeface plays with the idea of humanizing modernist structures, an inevitability that came with the occupation of residential homes built by architects such as Neutra and Shindler. The high cross bars and rounded caps and terminals add to the friendly, human aesthetic and give the alphabet a distinct, recognizable appearance. Behance link.
