It would perhaps be more helpful if you described what the problem is, (and maybe even how to fix it). The problem is caused by the fact that Amviewer takes over the "Open" action of the .TTF file association. This is a common problem when installing, then uninstalling almost any program in Windows. Any file associations taken over by the program are not restored when the program is uninstalled. Amviewer is such a useful utility, that the only reason I can think of for uninstalling it, is precisely because it "steals" the previous "Open" functionality of Microsoft Fontview. It is a simple matter to restore the original Fontview functionality, without uninstalling Amviewer. To fix the problem, 1. Open an Explorer window, open the "Tools" menu, select "Folder Options", then select the "File Types" tab. 2. Scroll down the "Registered file types" and select the TTF file extension, then click on the "Advanced" button. There should be two "Actions" displayed, "Open" and "Print". 3. Select the "Print" action, then click the "Edit" button. The "Print" action edit dialog should open. 4. Select all of the text in the "Application used to perform action:" edit box, then hit CTRL C on the keyboard to copy the text to the clipboard. The text should look something like the following (different versions of Windows put Fontview in different directories): C:\WINDOWS\System32\fontview.exe /p %1 5. Cancel out of the "Print" action edit dialog without changing anything, then select the "Open" action and click on the "Edit" button. The "Open" action edit dialog should open. 6. Select all of the text in the "Application used to perform action:" edit box, then hit CTRL V on the keyboard to paste over the text in the edit box. Next edit the text, to remove the "/p" switch... The entry should look like: C:\WINDOWS\System32\fontview.exe %1 7. Finally, replace the text in the "Application" edit box with: fontview 8. Click the OK button to close the "Open" action edit dialog. Click on the OK button to close the "Edit File Type" dialog. Click on the OK button to close the "Folder Options" dialog, and you're done. While this change reinstates the orignal Fontview functionality, it has one bad side effect. Amviewer is able to display uninstalled fonts, but the only way to do that is to "Open" them. This change makes that impossible. However, it is possible to add a "Open with Amviewer" action to the file context menu. (But that is another topic.) (By the way, the link to Amviewer on your website is out dated. I am not sure how to get ahold of Arjan since he finished university.) Regards, Mike Ady
