[Fabiola Mejía]
Fabiola Mejía is an independent type designer from Costa Rica. She completed the Type@Cooper Condensed Program in New York City and received an MA in Typeface Design from TypeMedia (KABK) in 2019, in Den Haag, The Netherlands. Fabiola is a core designer at Dinamo Typefaces and runs SUPERCONTINENTE, a platform dedicated to her type design practice and collaborative explorations. Her typefaces: - Actual (2022, Supercontinente). A sturdy wedge serif.
- Anacoreta (2022, Supercontinente). An open blackletter.
- Bizco (2019), designed during her studies.
- Montiac and Montiac Mono (2024). A semi slab serif inspired by the 1893 Scotch/modern serif typeface Columbia Antiqua), published at Supercontninente.
- Raiz (2025, Supercontinente). A Victorian typeface based on Lehmann-Fraktur (1920).
- Rodina (2019), her KABK graduation typeface, has sharp serifs and high contrast.
- Rym (Supercontinente). A calligraphic pixel script in all caps.
- Segueta (Supercontinente). A barbed wire black metal typeface which she descibes as a carefully-sharpened and visibly confident typeface with an extreme width and prominent serifs, informed by Stephenson Blake's Wide Latin (1883) and Walter Haettenschweiler's Lettera drawings.
