VistaServ
A website based in Thornbury, Australia (a suburb of Melbourne). Its operators are nostalgic about the 1990s, and seek to replicate the aesthetic of the era's computers. The founders, Caitlin and Paul (last names unknown), created bitmap fonts for use as web fonts, instead of the superior outline versions of the fonts, in order to replicate the output of ancient rendering engines. They use FontForge for most of their work. They write: we think horribly aliased fonts look great. |
