MuseScore
[Martin Keary]
Free music notation software. MuseScore uses notation fonts Bravura, Emmentaler, Leland (2020), and Petaluma (a jazz notation font by Anthony Hughes at Steinberg). They explain: Leland is a highly sophisticated notation style created by our head of product, Martin Keary and our engraving expert, Simon Smith. The aim of Leland is to provide a classic notation style that feels just right with a balanced, consistent weight and a finessed appearance that avoids overly stylised quirks. The font is named after Leland Smith, creator of the Score music notation software. As text font, Martin Keary and Simon Smith developed Edwin (2021). Edwin is a free typeface adapted from the C059 typeface (from URW++ Design and Development GmbH) by MuseScore BVBA for its music notation and scoring applications. C059 in turn is an interpretation of New Century Schoolbook. Github link for Edwin. |
