Warnock Pro
Warnock Pro was Robert Slimbach's creation in 2000. Apostrophe's opinion: " Warnock Pro seems alright, though I'm not crazy about the F (too straight-up), Q (tail stroke's awkward) and S (bottom looks all wrong). Also its overall appearance seems like a very conscious effort at "modern typography" (mixing slabs, serifs and humanist ends), which would stand out to the reader. It would certainly not be a good replacement for, say, a Garamond or anything of the Garalde style. Also the italic characters seem too edgy and lacking in curve when compared with the non-italic fonts." For Warnock Pro, he got an award at the Type Directors Club (TDC2) 2001 competition. |
