Fontographer: John Hudson's comments
John Hudson of Tiro Typeworks describes what happens behind the scenes when you import and modify fonts: " In the case of TrueType, Fontographer dumps all hinting, converts curves to cubic beziers, applies incorrect Type 1 autohinting, and then converts the curves back to quadratic beziers -- inaccurately in some cases -- when you export the font. In the case of Type 1, Fontographer dumps hint replacement points and flex hints, but doesn't do too much other damage." |
