ABOUT

Blackfriars Type Foundry

Type foundry in the early 20th century in London. Their typeface Richmond Oldstyle (1920s) was imitated by Sylvester A. Cypress in the phototype Wembley, which in turn was digitized by Joe Treacy (Treacyfaces) as Wembley TF. Novel Fonts revived Richmond Oldstyle as Valhalla in 1994. Nick Curtis revived Richmond Oldstyle as Rowan Oak NF (2007). In 2009, Nick Curtis digitized Whitefriars NF.
