Clive Bruton
Clive Bruton graduated from the London College of Printing in 1988. He became a type technology specialist. He is a director of INDX/Creatives Connect, a consultancy in London for new technologies and workflow. He started the on-line type publication Fontzone in 1996. Bruton designed Julius, based on Frutiger's Avenir, Adams Rounded, based on VAG Rounded, Christina, and Mad Mach. Someone told me he also designed Debenhams Titling, but I can't find any evidence of that on the web. The link has gone dead. At Typotechnica 2005, he spoke about "a practical demonstration of font customisation, for example the name of the purchaser and their address, on a per-customer basis. With a desktop application to display such information to any end user." |
