The rare books collection at McGill University in Montreal has hundreds of books on typography donated to the library by William George Colgate of Toronto ("the William Colgate collection"). It has over 13,000 monographs now on type design and the history of the book, and many specimen books dating from 1850-1950, including a lot of the work of W.A. Dwiggins. Try a keyword search for "type" and "specimen"! The curator is Richard Virr. The person in charge of the Colgate Collection is Donald Hogan.
