Designer at Barnhard Brothers and Spindler (and head of matrix engraving there), who designed the art deco typeface Cubist Bold (a typeface without lower case) in 1928. Patent. Mac McGrew on Cubist Bold: The name tells it all. Designed by John W. Zimmerman, head of the matrix engraving department. at BB&S, probably just before BB&S merged with ATF in 1929, this font of unusual capitals and figures is very large for the body and has no lowercase.
