ABOUT

Benjamin Fox

British punchcutter and type designer who died in 1877. He was the partner in Besley and Co (est. 1849 by Robert Besley---in fact Besley and Co grew out of Thorowgood and Co in which Besley was a partner until Thorowgood retired in 1849, causing the change of name) in London. He helped Robert Besley in the development and cutting of Clarendon in 1845 at Fann Street Foundry/Thorowgood and Co.
