[Kazuo Kanai]
Commercial Japanese foundry set up in 2002 by Kazuo Kanai, who won the first Morisawa type design competition back in 1983. Kazuo Kanai has published fonts at Morisawa, Dai Nippon Printing, Type Bank and his own label, Ren Font. At Font-Kai, he sells the exquisite 12-weight kanji family called Kai. Alternate URL. In 2021, Font-Kai released these Japanese fonts at Google Fonts: Kaisei Decol, Kaisei HarunoUmi, Kaisei Opti (a modern font), and Kaisei Tokumin (a headline font; the name is an abbreviation for Tokuta Mincho Kana). |
