Kate Greenaway
English Victorian illustrator and letterer (b. London, 1846, d. 1901), known for her children's books. Sample of her work in her Almanack for 1884. Here are the title pages of The Royal Progress of King Pepito (1889) and The Book of Games. In 1885, she drew Kate Greenaway's Alphabet (caps with children in various poses), which was made into a font by Gert Wiescher in 2005. Gert Wiescher also made the dingbat typeface Greenaway Mignonettes (2012). |
