The Parker Irish type
The Parker type, produced in Dublin in 1787, was the first Irish character type cut and cast in Ireland. It is sometimes called the Brooke or Bonham type, as Charlotte Brooke used it in "Reliques of Irish Poetry". The Parker type was not appropriate for textbooks as it used up too much space. |
