Ecole cantonale d'art de Lausanne (ECAL)
A brief description of the school can be found in the article écal-typografie restart (Comedia, edition 04-5/6, 2004). It was headed by Pierre Keller. The Masters program is headed by Philippe Egger. Teachers include type designers such as Ian Party (who runs Swiss Typefaces with Emmanuel Rey), Ludovic Balland and François Rappo. Courses are also taught by Frederik Berlaen and Kai Bernau, among others. The visiting staff has included people such as Paul Barnes, David Bennewith, Peter Bilak and Gilles Gavillet. |
