Albert Angus Turbayne
Albert Angus Turbayne (b. 1866, Boston, MA, d. 1940, London) was an American book designer and bookbinding artist. He worked in London for the London County Council School of Photoengraving and Lithography and also for Carlton Studio. He wrote Monograms and Ciphers (republished by Dover in 1968 and by Mayflower Books in 1978 with the title A Complete Book of Monograms & Ciphers). Designer of an initial caps face at the end of the 19th century. One of his typefaces inspired Ben Noe's typeface Turbayne (2021). |
