Simon Egli
Swiss art director who has done substantive typographic work for some clients. For Tess model agency in London, he custom-designed a typeface and logo in collaboration with Mind Design. Sea Ark Sheep (2010) is a contextual typeface that was started as a project at Central Saint Martins, and ended up being released by Die Gestalten in collaboration with Stian W. Bugten in Norway. In 2012, he was based in New York City. In 2016, Simon published the free superfamilies Sean Slab and Sean Sans. The typeface is about to be renamed Canola. Github link for Metapolator: Canola is the first typeface created using Metapolator. It includes Sean Devanagari. As part of his Biblia Libre project, he addded Bold and Italic to Apostrophic Lab's free Day Roman font family (2020), which is based on François Guyot's 16th century types. |
