Brazilian designer (b. 1987) who graduated from Universidade Federal de Santa Maria RS and lives in Sao Paulo where he works for Dalton Maag. His type family Caturrita (2010), which imports Latin warmth and calligraphic elements in a text face, won a student award at the II Bienal Ibero-Americana de Design in Madrid. Caturrita was published at Armasen in 2011, and the related families Caturrita Extra and Caturrita Display in 2012. Tribuna (2012) is a newspaper headline and text family, short and stocky. Suba (2012) is a big sans serif type family with several weights, with a male and a female version. In 2015, Bruno Mello designed the spectacular geometric sans typeface family Objektiv at Dalton Maag. Its subfamilies, Mk1, Mk2 and Mk3 progressively zoom from macro into micro typography. Typefaces from 2020: Basco (at Typofonderie: an 18-style sturdy serif family released by Typofonderie in 2020 and in Pro version in 2021, advertized as a mix of renaissance and calligraphy, with a touch of tropical atmosphere). |
