Antonius Mathieu Güthschmidt
Dutch poster artist, 1887-1958. Guthschmidt and Guthschmidt Condensed (Tom Wallace, 2008) are based on a 1924 KLM Royal Dutch Airline poster designed by Antonius Guthschmidt. The poster draws on the imagery of the legend The Flying Dutchman. Other posters with art deco lettering by him include Gastentoonstelling (1930) and Kurhaus Scheveningen (1930s). |
