Lucas Oriel Lucas Oriel (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) created the curly display typeface Carnaval do Recife (2012) aty the Universidade do Estado de Minas Gerais (UEMG). He also designed Caminha 1 (2009), a calligraphic typeface based on the Letter of Pero Vaz de Caminha, written in 1500---the year Brazil was discovered by Portuguese adventurer Perdro Alvares Cabral.
