Roman Scherer Designer in Luzern, Switzerland, who ran Holztypenfabrik Roman Scherer, possibly the only wood type manufacturer in Switzerland. He created Bananatype (ca. 1910). One of their catalogs, ca. 1920, is entitled Schriften in Holz & Hartmetall Einfassungen Vignetten. Scherer died in 1922.
