Mom's Typewriter Actual
This free typewriter font from 2013 is controversial. Indeed, Mom's Typewriter was originally made in 1997 by Christopher Mueller, who made a font without a 0 or a 1, because the original old typewriter he used as a model did not have a 0 or a 1 [in old typewriters, O and l replaced 0 and 1, thus saving two keys]. He did not allow any modifications to his font. But the internet is what it is, and anything can happen anywhere at any time. So, a certain "Handy" added a 0 and a 1 against Christopher's wishes. He left the copyright notice to Christoph Mueller intact. Christopher is upset about all this. Now, upon closer inspection, one notes that Handy just copied to O and l to the "0" and "1" positions in Christoph Mueller's font in the hope of making the font useful as a digital typeface---no new characters were created. |
