Variable Fonts: Adobe Typekit Blog

Tim Brown (Head of Typography for Adobe Typekit & Adobe Type) takes us in September 2016 on a tour of the new proposal for Variable Fonts. This new format in which one font file represents multiple fonts, is jointly developed by Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Adobe. He argues that at this point in time, we need (1) fonts, (2) rendering engines for the fonts, (3) browsers to support the rendering engines, (4) tools for designing the fonts.
