In his book, Elaine Lustig Cohen: Biography, Steven Heller writes: Pioneering graphic designer, artist and archivist, Elaine Lustig Cohen is recognized for her body of design work integrating European avant-garde and modernist influences into a distinctly American, mid-century manner of communication. Welsh and Lustig Cohen extended Alvin Lustig's 1939 geometric typeface Euclid, and named it Lustig Elements. It was cut in wood by Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum in 2015, and produced as a digital typeface in 2016 by P22. |
