Paula Scher Partner at Pentagram, who teaches design at SVA in New York City. TDC medalist in 2006. In her recent redesign of the visual identity for The New School, a private university in New York City, Scher commissioned Peter Bilak of Typotheque to design the (bespoke) variable font Neue. Neue's letterforms, based on Bilak's font Irma, are governed by a custom algorithm that alternates regular, extended and very extended widths of the same font within a block of type. Keynote speaker at ATypI 2017 Montreal. Recipient of the 2017 SOTA Typography Award.
