Paula Minelgaite is a graphic designer based in London, UK. As a print, editorial, type design and research practitioner she is interested in political, social and cultural communication. She writes about Romford Stencil (2017): Romford Stencil is a Brexit inspired typeface. Its letterforms represent the idea of a union splitting apart and the stylistic differences between the upper and lower case symbolise the notion of being different from one another. Research for this typeface started off in Romford which is an area where the majority of UK voters wanted to leave the European Union, hence the name. Typefaces from 2020: Suburban Collier. (a display demi-serif with polygonal counters). |
