Commentary November 15, 2005 Monotype versus Bitstream: 2005

¶ This case (No. 03 C 4349 in the Northern District of Illinois, July 12, 2005) pits plaintiffs Monotype Imaging Inc (from Delaware) and ITC (or International Typeface Corporation, from New York) against Bitstream Inc, the defendant from Delaware. On July 12, 2005, US District Court Judge Amy J. St. Eve found Bitstream not liable under any of Plaintiffs' claims of contributory copyright infringement, contributory trademark infringement, or infringement under the DMCA.
