Herbert Spencer
Herbert Spencer (1924, London-2002, Falmouth) was a designer, editor, writer and photographer. Working in London, Spencer launched Typographica in 1949 and wrote for it for 18 years. He is the author of The Visible Word: Towards a new alphabet. Visual Communication Books (Hastings House Publishers, 1968-1969) and Pioneers Of Modern Typography (1969). Creator of the De Stijl like alphabet NPL, Epps+Evans in the former book, which was digitized in 1997 by Michael Hernan. |
