Omnibus Type [Héctor Gatti]

Hector Gatti, aka Pocho Gatt, is an Argentinian who runs Gatti Studio and Omnibus Type, and who co-designed the sans typeface Patagonia (1994) with Pablo Cosgaya. Omnibus (est. 2011) is a coop that focuses on web typography and high quality web fonts. All typefaces can be found at the Google Font Directory. All designers are from Argentina and Mexico. Their typeface library:

• Rosario (2011, Hector Gatti). Gatti says that he fused Berthold Garamond and Trade Gothic to make the sans family Rosario in 2000. The typeface is free since 2011 at Google Font Directory and CTAN. The typeface is now part of the type collection at Tipo.
• Unna (2011, Jorge de Buen).
• Chivo (2011, Hector Gatti). CTAN, Google Font Directory, Open Font Library, and Omnibus Type). A free neogrotesk face.
• Archivo Black (2012, Google Web Fonts; CTAN link for TeX support). A heavy grotesque face. Archivo Narrow. Archivo at Google Fonts. Archivo won an award at Tipos Latinos 2016. Open Font Library link.
• Asap (2012). This is a rounded sans family by Pablo Cosgaya. Asap is based on Ancha (designed by Pablo Cosgaya and Hector Gatti), and has been developed with the collaboration of Andrés Torres. Pablo Cosgaya's Asap Condensed followed later in 2015. Google Fonts link for Asap Condensed.
• Sansita One (2011, Pablo Cosgaya). Followed by Sansita Swashed (2018, a Google font by Pablo Cosgaya and Aldo de Losa). Github link. Google Fonts link.

  In 2013, Pablo Cosgaya and Dani Raskovsky co-designed a wood carving typeface called Bahiana---perfect for lettering on a Caribbean rum shack. Bahiana was published by Omnibus Type. Download from Open Font Library.

• The squarish sans typeface Saira won an award at Tipos Latinos 2014. In 2018, Saira Stencil was announced by Omnibus Type. Open Font Library link. Google Web Font links for Saira, Saira Stencil, Saira Condensed, Saira Extra Condensed and Saira Semi Condensed.
• Pragati Narrow (2015, Omnibus Type and Open Font Library), derived from Chivo, is a free Google web font family that covers both Latin (in the 19th century American grotesque style with vertically or horizontally cut terminals) and Devanagari. the Devanagari was developed by Marcela Romero, Pablo Cosgaya and Nicolás Silva. • In 2015, Pablo Cosgaya, Eduardo Tunni and the crew of Omnibus Type published the text typeface Manuale.
• Hector Gatti and Omnibus published the free semi-serif typeface Rosario in 2015. CTAN link for TeX support by Arash Esbati (2016-2019).
• Assailand (2019). Assailand (a pun on Açailandia, a city from northeastern Brazil) is a modification of Saira SemiCondensed. It is a spatially efficient futuristic sans family.
• Museo Moderno (2019). An avant garde geometric sans by Pablo Cosgaya, Hector Gatti and Marcela Romero at Omnibus Type specially created for the new identity of the Buenos Aires Museum of Modern Art. Github link. Google Font link.
• Ballet VF (Maximiliano Sproviero, 2021). A variable Spencerian penmanship font with optical sizing from 16pt to 72pt---a technical feat accomplished with the help of Eduardo Tunni and the Omnibus team. Free at Google fonts. Github link.
