ABOUT

G. Commoretti&Figlio

Italian foundry in Milano. Scan of a specimen book cover, 1897. In a leaflet from 1901, the company advertizes its first original typeface, implying that all previous typefaces since its inception in 1838 were not original---indeed, Itlaina types were by-and-large imported from Germany and the United States. Commoretti became Urania in 1903.
