Letter Combinations
In the late 19th century, Central Type Foundry from St. Louis, MO, published Letter Combinations in one of its catalogs. It has a number of basic geometric shapes that typesetters could combine into modular typefaces, a time-consuming process. But it is not unlike the digital modular software programs like FontStruct that let users work with a palette of basic shapes. |
